  Summary:
We have been recently witnessing an increasing number of suicides, particularly during the wars in former Yugoslav Republics. Genesis of this “epidemic” is wide and there are more and more confusing reasons for suicide and many of them remain still unknown. Suicide prevention is possible just in rare cases, when suicidal tendencies are identified in time, and extensive action is taken to overcome these ideas. Unfortunately, suicidal ideas often remain unidentified, so they are manifested by suicide attempt itself - successful or unsuccessful. We are going to present a case of a patient who hanged himself and fortunately failed.
Key words: suicide, suicidal tendencies
