| Summary: Authors are reporting
occurrence of multinodular euthyroid goiter in several members of the same
family. Eight of 22 investigated persons (two in first generation, six in
second generation, 13 in third generation and one in the forth
generation), have expressed goitrous thyroid gland. Three goitrous members
in second generation have six children – 4 with goiter. Other three
members of second generation, without goiter, have 7 children, all without
goiter. From group of eight patients with goiter, five had thyroid surgery
and PH findings were predominantly - nodular macrofollicular goiter. In
two members (mother and son) in enlarged thyroid gland was found papillary
carcinoma. On preoperative examination all patients were functionally
euthyroid with scintigraphic findings of hypo functional nodular
degeneration. The genetic testing is in the prospect. Key words: goiter, multinodular, familiar expression Note:
