Summary: There are many ways to study the effects of phonetic therapy in voice disoreders. The most precise one is computerized voice analysis. Aim: The aim of this study was to make a multidimensional acoustic analysis of A vowel sound in disorder speech state in patients with hyperkinetic dysphonias before and after voice therapy in order to get quantitative confirmation of success of the vocal therapy. Method: 32 male patients with hyperkinetic dysphonias aging 43.6±5.68 were examined. In all patients vowel A was recorded and analyzed before and after a one-month vocal treatment. Success of the vocal therapy was followed-up through a computed acoustic analysis of A vowel. The parameters of voice signal, noise and tremor were analyzed. Results: Eleven of analysed A vocal parameters showed significant improvement (p<0.05 and p<0.01). Three parameters changed towards improvement but the obtained differences were not statistically significant (p>0.05). Conclusion: The results of this study showed that phonetic therapy was successful in most of analysed parameters. Phonetic therapy is suggested to be continued till final voice stabilization.
