| Summary: Workplace in terms of increased risk affects the ability of wind musicians. Aim of study: The aim of this paper is to show how very common diseases, such as spondylosis thoracalis and neuralgia intercostalis, which can occur in different jobs and in the general population, may affect the work ability of wind musicians. The assessment of work ability was initiated by subjective symptoms and the process of working capacity evaluation included laboratory and diagnostic procedures in accordance with indications. Results: This paper presents a patient with subjective symptoms (pain in the chest and epigastrium to the left) who entered the examination process to determine the cause of problems, which led to a definitive assessment of working capacity. On the basis of the examinations, neuralgia intercostalis and spondylosis thoracalis were found. Conclusion: As regards job risks, these diseases cause the inability to work on the job of a musician on wind instruments.
