Summary: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a very complex disorder both from the aspect of its etiology and its pathogenesis and from the aspect of the treatment of the patient. This management of the diseased includes a great number of clearly defined procedures, organized into a system enabling the constancy of data input, reproductivity of applied analyses and tests. In recent years ‘Guidelines of Good Practice’ have been formed obliging thus health workers to conduct the procedure with the patient and his disease in the strictly defined way and to keep properly proscribed documentation. These were the initial bases for defining the need to design the way of collecting and processing data by a computer – the information system. Nowadays, it is clear more than ever that this computer endeavour, thanks to the data bases, researches, statistic display and reports, offers precious data on the frequency of the disease and all parameters relating to the patients and their disease. Key Words: information system, Diabetes Mellitus, data base, reports, statistic methods Napomena:
