Summary: The level of patients’ satisfaction with health care serves as one of the indicators of subjective quality of health care. The content of health care evaluation needs to be not only clinically and economically but also socially acceptable. That includes the public opinion on health and especially its view on different aspects of the process of health care. That is the reason why it is so important to measure patients´ satisfaction, which also has an impact on health condition and therapeutic results. The aim of the study is to measure patients´ satisfaction with the work of nurses, to improve the work of nurses and to establish communication of good quality between patients and the Oncology Department staff. The survey was carried out at the Oncology Department of the Health Centre "Studenica" in Kraljevo. The sample of 101 respondents was selected at random. The questionnaire created especially for the purpose of this study grew out of theoretical and practical experience and with recognition of patients` needs. Tools of descriptive statistics and chi-square method were used for data processing. Based on results of the survey, it could be defined what priorities the patients of the Oncology Department had and what to do to improve the work of the Oncology Department. The survey included the patients` perceptions and their satisfaction with the way they were treated and provided with information, as well as the assessment of satisfaction with the clinic infrastructure – the possibility of getting information over the phone, waiting time, cleanliness and the speed of service.
