| Summary: Various immunoassays are used for determination of blood concentration of PSA – radioimmunoassay, fluoroimmunoassays, etc. Nowadays very specific monoclonal antibodies are used for all immunoassays and false reactions (false detectability of antigen, PSA in this case) are very rare. Although these methods are very specific, during some autoimmune diseases there are possibilities for false, non specific detections. We have presented the case of a patient with benign prostatic hyperplasia in whom PSA was followed for a few years (moderately increased) and there was a significant increase during autoimmune thrombocytopenia (ITP). After thrombocytopenia, PSA returned to previous values. Key Words: autoimmune thrombocytopenia, PSA Napomena:
