Summary: Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) still represent an important problem in anaesthetic practice. Nausea and vomiting can delay discharge of ambulatory patients and extend the time a patient spends in a post anaesthesia care unit (PACU). PONV can increase the cost of completing a surgical procedure, have a negative impact on the patient, staff and family and generate an aversion to future anaesthetics. There are many factors that can influence the occurrence of PONV. The prevention and treatment of PONV require accurate risk stratification. A solution to this problem in the future can be based on a multimodal approach and prophylactic application of a combination of antiemetics in high-risk patients. Key words: postoperative, nausea, vomiting, antiemetic drugs, multimodal approach Napomena: kompletan tekst rada na srpskom jeziku Note: full text in Serbian |
