Summary: Understanding of lymphoma
histogenesis can be achieved by elucidating specific cell line from which
malignant clonal proliferation originates. First we have to determine cell
differentiation and lineage fidelity. Comparing it with maturation level
of normal lymphocyte counterparts, we can find out et which moment clonal
transformation has taken place. Four major mechanisms are involved in
lymphoma pathogenesis: gen transformations of lymphoma clone; tumour
infection by oncogen viruses; antigen stimulation and selection of tumour
cells and host immunodeficiency. This review presents contemporary
understanding of lymphoma histogenesis and pathogenesis, and compares
morphology, immunogenetics and clinical features of most frequent low
grade B-cell NHL. Key words: NHL, hystogenesis, pathogenesis Note:
